Nicholas Christakis is an American sociologist and physician known for his research on social networks and the socioeconomic and biosocial determinants of behaviour, health, and longevity. He is the Sol Goldman Family Professor of Social and Natural Sciences at Yale University. He directs the Human Nature Lab, and he is the Co-Director of the Yale Institute for Network Science.

At Yale, in 2015, Nicholas and his wife, Erika Christakis, were involved in a controversy related to the regulation of Halloween costumes and freedom of expression.
